John's shop as he prepares for construction.
The left wing panel with top sheeting and cap strips in place.
The bottom of the left wing, shear webs in place, and wing tube in place.
A modification to the plans. Instead of a rubber band, John will use a 1/4 - 20 nylon bolt to hold the wing in place.
Adding the top sheeting to the right wing.
It is suggested that you glue the leading edge down before bending the wing sheeting into final position. So that's what I'm doing!

The nylon bolt modification on the right wing prior to the wing tube being installed.

I glued 3/8ths balsa triangle stock to the end of the aileron then sanded flush. A nice shortcut to beveling the leading edge!
The aileron servo bay. The actual mounting plate is about 1/2 and inch or so below the cap strips.
The tail feathers all glued up..
These work great for weighing down the parts. The bottle weights 4 1/2 pounds, the larger bag I made weighs in at 3 lbs, and the smaller bag at 1 lb.
The tail feathers are all done. Just some final sanding and such to do.
Adding the triangle stock here required some additional modifications. In this case, instead of grooving the elevator halves to accept the joiner wire, I grooved the triangle stock.
